China Glaze: Lighthouse

Lighthouse

Happy weekend, polishheads! I’ll keep this post short because I know you guys have seen the Anchors Away swatches more than you want to and are sick of them (I know I am. I was let down from the collection after all the hype.)  Lighthouse is only polish that I thought was actually pretty unique from this collection that I felt compelled to purchase.

Golden shimmery yellow

Even though I was drawn to this polish, I wasn’t sure I was going to love it. As you have noticed, it’s very golden. And I’m not a yellow lover so I wasn’t sold at first. Lighthouse is pretty golden, but also quiet bright on the yellow side so you’re not going to mistake for a gold. It’s saturated and fun. And it’s an almost sheer base, so it’s light on the nail. The shimmer  is awesome and allows for this polish to really glow…like a lighthouse. I get you, China Glaze.

China Glaze Lighthouse

As mentioned, this yellow polish is saturated and bright enough, even though it’s a sheer polish, to look like you have polish on your nail. Not like your nails look dingy and weird. The formula on this polish was pretty runny. I wasn’t quiet able to get the hang of it. But I was suggest applying a thick first coat to have a strong base to build on. I used three coats and have no complaints. I think somehow this polish will be flattering on almost anyone. I think it’s super cool and I completely love it. It’s weekend and summer appropriate for sure.

Where to Buy: Sally’s / Ulta / Online Etailers (I got this from Transdesign for $3!) / $ 6ish

  1. i like to use ASP whitening paste from sally beauty about once a month. it works better than anything i’ve tried before. also a good buff every few weeks helps too 🙂

  2. I’d love to be put on your blogroll (you’re on mine)! http://never-unpolished.blogspot.com

Lighthouse looks gorgeous on you…I have it and haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like our skin tones are pretty close, so if it looks anything like it looks on you I’ll be happy! 🙂

  3. Mmm yellow. 😀

As for getting rid of stains I recently used Nfu Oh cuticle remover för the first time, and my nails were very stained from removing blue/green polish so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try removing the stains with it as well. It worked!
I just applied some and scrubbed a little.
