Zoya: Zuza

I’ve been wearing a lot of blues lately, and Zuza was an untried I hadn’t gotten around to yet. The pretty watery, mermaid-y blue is obviously something I was drawn to.

Sparkle-y aqua green

Zuza is a fun manicure. It’s a pretty, medium toned aqua with a touch of green. The finish on this polish was interesting to me. The silver shimmer read almost as a foil to me, but seemed to be just a little short of the full on sparkle that a foil has. I’m not going to say this polish is the most unique, but it was fun to wear and great for summer.

Easy, smooth application

In typical Zoya fashion, this polish applied very easily. The formula was smooth and I had no coverage issues. I used two thick coats and everything turned out well.

Where to Buy: Zoya.com / $ 8

Do you like Zuza? Did you buy Zuza? What did or didn’t you like about this polish?

Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow: Rock Violet

Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow Rock Violet

I like Clinique a lot. I reviewed a Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow not too long along. And since I loved it so much, I decided to give another color a try. The one thing about this line is that there aren’t that many colors to choose from. This purple, Rock Violet, and the olive green, Sunlit Palm, were the most appealing to me.

Rock Violet is a light, silvery purple. It almost like a metallic violet or lavender.  The color is pretty unique, I own a lot of purple shadows and didn’t have one that looked similar to this one.

Essie: Sag Harbor

Essie Sag Harbor

Things for me right now more than mundane. I feel a disconnect from life, and apparently it’s translating into my polish. This morning I figured I’d give one of the Milani One Coat Glitter’s a try because I was looking at some photos and they looked really good. I applied two coats and HATED everything about it immediately and had to remove it. So gross.

So, I went to a safe, beloved polish of mine for some TLC. Essie Sag Harbor is perfect. And I’ve been wanting to revisit this polish for a while and figured now would be a good time since a lot of bloggers have been mentioning it has a twin sister in China Glaze Sea Spray. Which was one of the first things I noticed about Sea Spray, and why I haven’t been dying to get it.

Essie Sag Harbor

Sag Harbor is like a cool, spring day on a dock, or a stormy sunset.  The light, greyed out blue of this polish is the perfect balance. It’s not too dark. Not too blue. Not too grey. Something about the color is also very warm, like in a soothing way. Even though on first description it could seem partially gloomy, but it’s gloomy is a cozy way.

Sag Harbor, like CG Sea Spray, has a glorious silver shimmer running through it. But the shimmer is so fine, that it somehow allows for this perfect, even metallic sheen throughout the finish of the polish. It’s noticeable, but not.

Metallic silver shimmer in Sag Harbor

As much as I love this polish, the formula isn’t great. It’s a little thin and streaky on the first coat. And the microscopic Essie brushes don’t make it any easier. But by the second you can apply a thicker coat and get things nice and even.

Sag Harbor / Concrete Jungle

I wanted to include this photo in case you haven’t seen Sag Harbor before. CJ is a pretty common polish, so you can kind of gauge Sag Harbor from it. As you can see, Sag Harbor is such a pretty color. It’s light and blue. Which could also be used to describe RBL Concrete Jungle, but the grey dominates it. Sag Harbor’s a light blue with a hint of grey that makes it a really great stormy, nautical polish.

Also, I have been seriously dying to own Essie Greenport, which is also from this collection. I have read about bloggers ordering it online, but I can never find it. Can anyone help me out with this?

OPI: My Private Jet

My Private Jet

Well, our driveway is almost clear of our 16 inches of snow. We have been shoveling most of the morning, and my practically frost bitten fingers are glad we’re almost done!

Ah, a most coveted nail polish to all of us nail polish fanatics. My Private Jet. Each time I got on an online polish ordering binge, I mean to put it on my list but I always forget. I’d like to have any of the multiple versions, as opposed to none.

Well, I was recently out shopping and stumbled upon a bottle of MPJ. I was pleased to find it and not have to order it online. Though, I noticed right away it wasn’t like the swatches of the glorious holographic smokey brown / grey / black MPJ that’s so special. I’m not as lucky as those with the holo MPJ, but at least I’ve got one, right? Rightttt.

Non Holographic My Private Jet

First of all, whatever version of MPJ that I have, the formula was…interesting. It was a little runny and hard to manage. But still wasn’t that bad. I ended up trying to control a more heavy / thicker first coat. By the second coat it looked really great. Nice and opaque. And a pretty finish regardless.

As you can tell, my version looks brown with white speckles and silver micro shimmer and some holographic shimmer in the sun. It looks very pretty in the sun. You get a less pack in holographic effect that the HTF version has. This MPJ has a granite look to it not in direct sunlight. It looks like a stone almost. The smokey brown base color is pretty, and with all the shimmer in there this polish is still very stunning and not like anything I own.

My (Non holo) Private Jet

It’s still an edgy, special, and different polish. I hope to get my paws on the HTF true holo version of this polish. It’s something I will keep working on. I, and you too, would obviously love it in my collection!

Are you lucky enough to have the holo version of MPJ? If you do, where’d you get it? I’m jealoussss!

Revlon: Colorburst Lip Glosses

Revlon Colorburst Lip Glosses

Have you guys seen these being raved about online? I have seen a few reviews about then, and decided that I should give them a go.

Revlon has recently revamped their make up and make up packaging and I can only say that it was a great idea. These glosses look so high-end. Their length, square body, and the argyle tops look great! I picked up three shades of the Colorburst Lip Glosses: Hot Pink, Crystal Lilac, and Strawberry.
